Mr. Scott Herold, Middle School Counselor (grades 5-8)

Welcome Pioneer students, families, community members, and visitors!
My name is Scott Herold. It is with great pleasure and gratitude to introduce myself as the District’s Middle School Counselor supporting all students in grades 5-8.
I grew up a Pioneer, graduating from Pierz Healy High in 2007. After High School, I explored through college attending St. John’s University, Central Lakes College, and continued my journey at St. Cloud State University (SCSU). In 2011, I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Community Psychology at SCSU. I continued my education at SCSU earning my Master’s Degree in both Community Counseling and School Counseling in 2016.
I have experience addressing a wide range of mental health services for all ages. I have 4 years of experience working as a Mental Health Therapist at CORE Professional Services. I am now working professionally as a Licensed School Counselor. I was the School Counselor at Sauk Rapids-Rice Middle School for 3 years prior to working here. I am passionately committed to supporting all students every step of their journey through Middle School.
My role with Pierz Public Schools is to support our 5th-8th grade student success in 3 areas; academic, personal/social/emotional, and career. I have two offices. One office in the High School main office to support 7th and 8th grade students. My other office is in the new building area near the 5th and 6th grade classrooms. I am the Head Cross Country Coach, Assistant Varsity Girls Basketball Coach, and Assistant Varsity Boys and Girls Track and Field Coach.
I am married to my beautiful wife, Megan. We have a precious angel daughter named Tara Nevaeh and a son named Braylon and a daughter named Maren. We reside right here in Pierz, and we feel blessed to be part of a very special community! If we were granted a wish to be anywhere in the world, we would choose to be anywhere with our family. We enjoy going for walks/runs, playing sand volleyball, and golfing. You have a good chance of running into me all throughout the school year supporting Pierz Pioneers activities. Please say Hello! I am looking forward to meeting you and Go Pioneers!
