Jo Loidolt, Elementary Para: retiring and relishing the time with grandbabies!

My name is Jo Loidolt. I have been a Special Ed. Para at Pioneer Elementary for the last 12 years; however, it was not my first experience working with children. I ran an In-home daycare for 16 years while raising our three kids.
I was born in Dickinson, North Dakota and moved with my family to a farm west of Buckman when I was fours year old. My husband Bob and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary last fall. We have three children: Cory, Kelly and Rebecca. Three in-laws: Jennie, Steve and Cody. And seven grandchildren: Alexis, Elijah, Lily, Olivia, Caden, Oliver and Caroline. They are the loves of our lives.
As a kid I always wanted to be a teacher. Life didn’t turn out that way, but I have been so fortunate to be able to touch children’s lives by doing daycare and now working in an elementary school. It is so amazing to see children succeed. Knowing that you have been a little part of their progress is gratifying. I have loved my time here at Pioneer and have made so many great memories and friendships. I am proud to have been a part of the Pioneer family.
Principal Tom Otte has relied on Jo's level-headedness and knowledge: "Over the last 12 years, Jo has worked with a wide variety of children of many ages. She has been a paraprofessional we could count on and one who took on whatever duties were assigned based on the ever-changing needs of the children of Pioneer Elementary. Jo and her husband, Bob, have been business owners and school supporters in Pierz for a long time. Her knowledge of our community will be missed.
Some have asked me what I will do with my time. I plan on spending more time with my family and grandchildren, quilting, traveling and hanging out at the lake. I will miss my Pioneer family, but am looking forward to the future.
