Mrs. Jennifer Swenson, 2nd grade teacher

Hello! I am Jennifer Swenson, and I am teaching second grade this year at Pioneer. I am so excited to be teaching in this wonderful community! I was raised in Little Falls and graduated from Little Falls Community High School. I went on to study at St. Cloud State University and received my Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education. Upon graduation, I moved down to the Twin Cities. I taught eight years in the southwestern metro area. The majority of my teaching was at Shakopee Area Catholic School. I have taught kindergarten, first, and third grades. I also have experience in fifth grade and middle school. Throughout my time teaching, I have found that my passion is in the primary grades. While teaching, I completed a program through Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and received my Masters in Education focusing on Curriculum and Instruction. It had been a goal of my husband and myself to move back to the Central Minnesota area, and this summer we were able to make that happen. This lead me to Pierz, and I am thrilled to have been given the opportunity.
This year I celebrated ten years of marriage with my husband, Nick. He is in the Minnesota Air National Guard and works at Camp Ripley. We have two little boys who keep us on our toes! Landon is eight and in second grade in Little Falls at Mary of Lourdes Elementary. Lucas is four and in preschool at Pioneer Elementary. My hobbies include travelling, camping, and attending musical concerts (especially when they are outdoors in the summer).
