In accordance with state law, Pierz Public Schools is required to ensure that all school-age children living within the district’s boundaries are being educated. The district’s primary role is to be certain that all Home Schools comply with state law and to provide the necessary information and forms to each Home School for compliance. For specific homeschool questions and to check out requirements, visit the Minnesota Department of Education website (link below).  If you determine home-schooling is the best option for your student, please complete the Compulsory Instruction Report (CIR), or the Letter of Intent to Continue Homeschooling, and submit it to Pierz Public Schools by October 1st.

For first-time home-schooled students, Pupil Immunization Record and Testing Information are also required when submitting your Non-accredited, Nonpublic School Full Report. For homeschool students previously reported to the district please submit a Letter of Intent to Continue Homeschooling. If you wish to participate in the MDE nonpublic pupil aids program, you must request the Student Report for Aids to Nonpublic Students form from the District’s Home School Liaison (email or call), and complete. (Must be signed on or before September 15th) Return it, and all forms to ISD 484 by October 1st.
*(Deadlines for returning all forms to the Pierz School District are set by the MN Department of Education and will remain the same for the 2016-17 school year.)

To request a packet to be mailed, please contact our office by email or call 320-468-6458.

For additional questions, you may call the Minnesota Department of Education at 651-582-8200 or visit the State School and Enrollment Choice webpage (link below).
